About Ghostwalk
Held in late October, Ghostwalk has been a major Historical Society fundraising event for almost two decades. Visitors from throughout North Carolina and the rest of the country come to New Bern for Ghostwalk.
Each year a theme, chosen to reflect a part of New Bern’s history, threads through activities for that year’s Ghostwalk. Distinctive homes and other locations in the downtown historic district are opened to ticket holders. Touring these locations, patrons encounter ‘character ghosts’ portraying someone from that year’s theme. Local authors write historical scripts played by some of the community’s best acting talent. Local photographers contribute photos of the homes and other locations on tour and the event in progress.
